Corus Quay Project
Aecon Buildings was awarded the construction management contract to deliver the full tenant fit-out of Corus Entertainment’s new corporate headquarters. The 571,488 square foot facility, over eight floors, consolidates the operations of 24 television services, three Toronto radio stations, and more than 1100 employees. Aecon was able to facilitate some unique construction aspects, such as the notable attention paid to acoustic detailing to meet stringent engineering design principles for the media studios and control rooms.
Special attention was also required in the skillful coordination of the open concept ceiling integration, featuring IT network cable tray, power and AV distribution and the modular wall and systems furniture design. And, of course, guiding the installation of the building’s most prominent fun-factor item – the three storey, indoor slide, along with a jumbo LCD media screen in the public atrium.
