Transformation AGO was designed to be harmonious with the toronto streetscape, but also to stand out in a way as to be inviting, culturally relevant, and exciting to potential visitors. Throughout the facility, special attention was given to the use of natural light. This feature provides the dual benefits of a better art viewing experience for visitors, and lighting costs reduction.

The Burlington GO Parking Garage is located at the North lot of GO Transit’s Burlington Station. The 4-level parking structure provides an additional 800 parking spaces for GO patrons. The project was a design/build effort with Kenaidan Contracting Ltd. and Read Jones Christoffersen partnering through design and construction. Construction started with the site servicing work being done in a phased effort. The work features foundations self-performed by Kenaidan with 2,200m3 of concrete and 4,500m2 of formwork. The superstructure for the garage includes 4 levels of pre-cast elements, a feature stair tower near the existing North Station Entrance, and 2 ancillary stair towers servicing the P1 to P4 Levels of the garage. As part of the parking structure, the design accommodates future installation of an additional 2 levels of parking.

This 1931 historical building will be fully restored; the interior will be retrofitted to house a Loblaws grocery store, parking on the lower level and the creation of three new interior floors for the Ryerson University field house with a new ice pad, basketball courts and academic facilities. The completed facility will contain over 300,000 square feet of space with new mechanical, electrical and life safety systems being installed throughout. The Toronto Heritage Services team is part of the team to ensure that the historical aspects of this Toronto landmark building are protected and maintained.
