As noted in our previous member bulletin, the provincial government has passed legislation requiring automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to be present on certain construction projects. The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) has finalized details of a reimbursement program to help eligible constructors offset the cost of purchasing AEDs.
The AED Reimbursement Program is open. The deadline to submit a reimbursement request is July 31, 2027. AEDs purchased between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2027 (inclusive) may be eligible for reimbursement, subject to WSIB program terms and conditions.
How to apply
Download and complete the Reimbursement Request Form (PDF) and submit it through your WSIB Online Services account. Program eligibility, documentation requirements, and reimbursement amounts are determined by the WSIB.
