2025 OGCA AGM – Why We’re Meeting in Boston

Dear OGCA Members,

We understand that some of you may be wondering why this year’s OGCA Annual General Meeting (AGM) is taking place in Boston, USA, and we’d like to provide some background to keep you fully informed.

The arrangements for this AGM were made well over a year ago, long before any concerns regarding tariffs or annexation were raised. At that time, significant planning had already begun, including securing favourable terms and committing substantial non-refundable funds. Sizable deposits were paid to secure the venue and related services. Cancelling now would mean forfeiting those funds—something we are committed to avoiding as part of our responsibility to carefully steward your association’s resources.

We also considered the practical challenges of relocating the AGM at this stage. Finding and securing an alternative venue that meets our standards—and making all the necessary arrangements in time—would be extremely difficult and could compromise the quality of the event we strive to deliver.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding as we proceed with the plans for Boston. As always, we remain focused on delivering value to our members—thoughtfully, responsibly, and with purpose.

Regardless of the location, our priority remains creating an engaging, productive, and inclusive AGM experience for all members.
